St John’s Lutheran School’s recent approval to expand to senior school has prompted a flurry of inquiries from continuing and new families into extending their children’s education at the school.
After an initial Year 10 class beginning next year, Year 11 will be added in 2023 and subsequently Year 12 in 2024.
Principal, Mrs Karyn Bjelke-Petersen, said that while the interest was very gratifying, the School was keen to hear from families who intended to enrol so that class planning could be undertaken.
“The first effect on increased enrolments is of course larger class sizes, but we are always focused on managing class sizes carefully because the quality of a St John’s education is built on that,” Mrs Bjelke-Petersen said.
“That’s why we’re eager to hear from prospective families so that we can plan adequately and ensure students have a class environment that’s ‘busy but not too busy’,” she said.
“If you’re thinking of enrolling next year to take advantage of our new senior opportunities, particularly if you’re coming in from another school, that’s excellent but we are encouraging families to contact us as soon as they are able.”
Mrs Bjelke-Petersen said she was excited that the St John’s expansion to senior would give “students and families in the South Burnett a greater choice in education.”
SJLS is expanding to senior schooling to give a broad range of current and prospective students a chance to experience 21st century education delivered in a flexible and agile learning environment, all supported by SJLS’s renowned values-based Christian focus.
As we come to a close of 2021, our school office will be short staffed, however please contact the school on 4162 3988 or office@sjls.qld.edu.au to organise a interview time or to have a conversation about any enrolment enquiries.
We look forward to hearing from you!
